A recent research by Amnesty International revealed that Facebook owned WhatsApp messenger is the most secured messenger App, and it joined the top position by its less secure messenger, because its ratings are fully grouped by the parent company.
Following level of the Whatsapp was closely to Apple’s iMessage, face-time and Telegram.
On privacy issues Amnesty also slammed Snapchat, Microsoft, Skype and Blackberry’s Messenger and there are more Messengers that are doing the same thing.
Amnesty also directed the companies to use end to end encryption as a default and also urged the companies to better inform their customers about the messages data storing details and methods used in it for betterment.
The Rights Organization about the Companies “Many of us trust these apps with our personal life’s intimate details. Companies that fails to take basic steps to protect our communication are failing that trust”.
“Amnesty International is calling companies to have end-to-end encryption as a default” to avoid such kind of issues. They don’t want to steel their customer data. They want to protect them. This is reason now Amnesty International going to stop all these things.
“It’s also calling on technological companies to inform clearly about the level of encryption applied in their messaging services.”
The research took into account companies, how they approach the online threats, use of encryption and their commitment to respecting user’s freedom of expressions and privacy.
